+
 +====== E-Book Cataloging ======
+How a MARC record for an individual e-book title gets into our catalog depends on the publisher and source of the records. Some come as part of packages and some are ordered on a title-by-title basis. The Batch loads are tracked via this Trello Board. Other loads such as through the DP or FC are tracked in the 5C In Common eResources Spreadsheet.
 +
+For those titles that are ordered on a title-by-title basis such as Gale eBooks, please check with the Batch Loading Team by emailing metadatahelp@umass.libanswers.com for more information.

+For more guidance on metadat quality, go to E-resource record quality checklist

+Licensed resources can have our proxy prefix or use Shibboleth. If Shibboleth is needed, do not add anything to the url. If a proxy is need, add the prefix in front of the url. The silk prefix is: http://silk.library.umass.edu/login?url=
 +
+The URL to the resource should follow the silk prefix so together it would look like this:
 +
+Subfield z should say: **UMass: Link to resource**
 +
+For an additional copy of a purchased e-resource:
 +
+__If the links are the same between all copies__
+  - Keep just the one url in the 856 field in the Holdings record
+  - Record an access note in the bib record in MARC field 506 to indicate the level of access if one isn’t present or doesn’t capture the new level of access for all additional copies
+  - A note can also be added to the order record to say that there is only 1 bib/hol/item for all the copies (should be done by Acquisitions)
 +
+__If the links are different between copies__
+  - Add another 856 to the Holdings record
+  - Add a MARC field 506 (or amend if already present) to indicate the level(s) of access for all copies
 +
