+Accurate transcription from title page, title page verso, colophon, covers, or other:

+C Statement of Responsibility (Author)
+RDA: Capitalization of the title may differ in RDA records – will usually (but not always) match the capitalization on the piece.  Also there won’t be a gmd like $h [videorecording] in RDA records.
+Edition statement:
+  Check the 250 field to help identify matching editions.
+RDA: records will have edition spelled out in full – so instead of 3rd rev. ed. it will be
+Third revised edition.
+Accurate imprint information from title page, title page verso, colophon, covers, or other:
+A Place of publication
+B Publisher (may contain abbreviations)
+C Date of Publication
+RDA: No more Latin abbreviations

+RDA records may also have several 264 fields for Production, Publication, Distribution, Manufacture, and Copyright Notice
+Physical Description:
+A Extent, pagination
+RDA: Will not have abbreviations for the most part ca. becomes approximately; ill. becomes illustrations; col. will be color, etc.
+Exceptions: cm for centimeter and min. for minutes – these abbreviations are still used in RDA
+RDA: 336, 337, & 338: Content, media, and carrier type

+OCLC records for printed books must also include the following:
+B Language of cataloging - If present in the record, must contain “eng” ONLY

+  A well-formed LC call #, containing both $a (classification) and $b (cutter/date).
+  If well-formed do not evaluate, edit or check either subfield.
+  If a record has an LC call no. with a volume designation (and no alternative no.) that book will not be
+  treated as FastCat.  Also, if a record has two LC numbers it will not be treated as FastCat.
