-====== Routing Notes for New Books ======

-
-
-In order to standardize notes placed on book requests and eliminate the need for interpretation, we propose the following :
-
-**Cat to Ref** : This order will be placed with a location code of uaur and on receipt will be sent directly to Information Processing or Original Cataloging.
-
-**Show Ref** - This order will have a location code of uaaa and on receipt will be put on the Ref Consideration shelves.
-
-**Cat to Ref latest vol.** - This order will have a location code of uaur and on receipt will be cat to Ref. The earlier edition already in Reference will be sent to the stacks.
-
-**De-Ref earlier vol.** - This note is not necessary and is covered under “Ref latest vol.”
-
-**Notify** - This note is put on orders when selectors feel a Professor might want to be notified about the receipt of a book in his subject area. Books with this note are given no special processing and without DLC copy could end up in the backlog for a couple of weeks after receipt. When using this note please use complete address or phone number and not just a name. The Professor gets notification that the book has been added to the collection.
-
-**Inform** - This note is used for library staff only when they want to read a book after it has been cataloged. The book is sent to Circulation and the staff member will be sent a notification slip.
-
-**Hold for** - This note is used for students and professors and for staff if books are needed for research or a class. On receipt this book is rush processed and a notification slip will be sent. When using this note, please give complete address or phone number and not just a name.
-
-**Show ?? on arrival** - ALL of these books will be put on the “Show Coll. Dev.” shelf above the Ref Consideration shelves in the Approval Room except for Special Collections who will be called when theirs arrive. Please cross your name off the routing slip after you have seen the book.

-**__Monographs to be located temporarily in Phys Sci Reserve__**
-
-
-Phys Sci Library occasionally orders titles that, due to their subject matter, might receive heavy usage. In order to make them more available to a larger number of patrons, they temporarily house them in their Perm Reserve area. These items, when ordered, will have a location of “uap” (Cat to Phys Sci) but will carry either of the following internal notes:
-
-**Cat to Phys Sci; Hold for Phys Sci Perm Reserve** - For items they know are needed rather quickly and which we should treat as rushes.
-
-**Cat to Phys Sci; Notify Phys Sci Perm Reserve** - For items they think might get heavy usage which we should treat as regular orders.
-
-Since our shelflist cards won’t print the location PHYS SCI PERM RESERVE and since these items are only housed in that location for approximately two years and transferring them requires new shelflist cards to be printed once they are returned to the Phys Sci stacks, they are cataloged to PHYS SCI and our III item records are annotated by a staff member at Phys Sci to show where they are while in the Reserve area.
