Audition is the Adobe audio recorder/editor. It is fast, powerful and has way more features than Audacity. It may seem intimidating at first, but once you get used to it, it's easy. This should be the go-to audio digitization software.

How to use Audition for Digitizing

  1. Open Audition.
  2. Open a new Audio File.
  3. Give the file a name.
  4. You will then see the file with the name you gave it in the Files window in the upper left
  5. Make sure the Editor window is open on the right.
  6. Hit the Record button at the bottom of the editor window.
  7. Hit Play on the deck you are using and voila, you will see the magical sound waves.
  8. Make any edits to the file (delete blank space, correct noise, raise levels, combine tape sides, etc)
  9. Save the file as a .wav file
  10. Then export the file as an .mp3
