====== Guest wifi access: short and long term ======
 

===== Short Term =====

Three day guest access can be set up in staff member's Spire account (Main Menu > IT accounts > Manage guest accounts). 
  - Supply a name to the Guest Name section (ex. SCUA guest) and click "Create Guest Account".
  - The next papge notes that your request in being processed and that a password must be set. Wait several minutes until you receive an email that an account has been created.
  - Return to the main "Manage guest accounts" page and click "View/Change existing account". Select the umg-XXXXX account to change. On the Account Detail page, click Change Password (near the top of page).
  - Create a simple password (which will be given to the guest).
  - Print out the email with the account details, write down the password, and give to guest.

===== Long Term =====

Long term access for a visiting scholar must be through a NENS (Non-employee, non-student) request. A designated authority (Emily? Allan?) puts the request in through Spire.
