The Mentoring Steering Committee will pair a librarian with a colleague who is seeking the benefits of a mentoring relationship.

This includes but is not limited to assistance for new librarians in understanding the library and university organizational structures, assistance in preparing for promotion and advice on professional development opportunities.

Any UMass Amherst librarian or classified staff member who is seeking professional advancement can request a mentor.

A request for a mentor may be submitted at any time during the year.

Fill out the appropriate application on the Application link and the Mentoring Steering Committee will contact you.

Mid-way through your mentoring year, you will receive a “check in” form if you would like support from the Mentoring Committee: http://bit.ly/141DP1X
