UMass Amherst Libraries Host “A Cannabis Conversation”

As part of UMass Homecoming, the UMass Amherst Libraries will host “A Cannabis Conversation,” a panel featuring primary care physician and cannabis specialist Peter Grinspoon, M.D., and law professor and legal scholar Jay Wexler, JD, on Friday, November 3, 4-6 p.m. at Old Chapel. The event is free and open to the public; both in-person and virtual attendees must register through the UMass Homecoming website.

During the panel, Grinspoon and Wexler will discuss their latest books, Seeing Through the Smoke: A Cannabis Specialist Untangles the Truth about Marijuana and Weed Rules: Blazing the Way to a Just and Joyful Marijuana Policy, and share their thoughts on cannabis, medical science, historical perspectives, public policy, community, and positive social change.

The Robert S. Cox Special Collections and University Archives Research Center is home to the records of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, the Lester Grinspoon Papers, and other major collections related to drug policy and social change.

Books by both authors will be available for purchase at the event.
