Measurement

Overview

Measurement is a display field that describes the scale of a work. Record the dimensions using height x width x depth. If might be unclear which directions the dimensions are referring to, include that information, e.g. 14 m, height. Types of Measurement include height, width, depth, length, circumference, diameter, volume, weight, area, and running time.

When possible use metric units. Abbreviate metric units without punctuation. Avoid abbreviating if the units are recorded in anything other than metric.

When recording numerical values in metric use whole and decimal fractions, e.g. '9.6 cm'. For other types of units use whole and fractions, e.g. '9 1/4 inches'.

meter = m

centimeter = cm

millimeter = mm

gram = g

kilogram = kg

kilobyte = kb

megabyte = Mb

gigabyte = Gb
