Work_type

Overview

The Work_type field is used to further sub-divide the terms used in the Category field. It refers the work's physical form, function, or media—-

Fields

Work_type

For Work_type include the most general terms for the type of art or cultural object you are cataloging, e.g. Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, etc. Category can also be used to record the acedemic discipline in which the object is considered, e.g. Architecture, Archaeology. In Category only use terms already in Luna. If none of the existing terms are appropriate for the work you are cataloging, see Brian or Steven before adding a new term. To assign terms that are more specific,e.g. relief, sketch, etc., use the Work_type field.

Record where the thesaurus used to create the Work_type record.

Work_type refid

Record the refid from the thesaurus for the term used.
