How to deal with dissertation titles that are missing from ScholarWorks
If the title is at least a full year old and is still missing:
First search the Proquest Dissertations and Theses database for the title to see if it is available there.
If the title is NOT listed on Proquest:
- First check with the Grad School to see if there's any reason why it might be missing from Proquest.
- If the Grad School doesn't have any reason for why it could be missing from Proquest, contact the Proquest ETD Support Helpdesk at etdsupport@proquest.com and ask them to look into it.
If the title IS listed on Proquest:
- Check to see if there are any restrictions on the title.
- If there ARE restrictions, it will not show up on ScholarWorks if or until the restriction is lifted.
- There's no need to check back, because the ScholarWorks system will send an email notification when it becomes available.
- If there are NO restrictions on the title, email the Bepress Support Department at support@dc.bepress.com and ask them to look into why it isn't listed on ScholarWorks@UMass Amherst.
